The picture you've all been waiting for

While preparing my iPod for the long trip to Miami tomorrow to see The Princess of Pop, I thought that I would do a short post to let you girlies see what I've been up to recently. Yes, I said "see" as in there will be pictures!

Okay firstly the dress. You all are like vultures, you know that?? :) Extremely pretty vultures though that I enjoy talking to! I've held out on you long enough and now you girlies will get to see my dress. My beautiful dress that is still not here and will arrive on the 16th and then I have to get it hemmed and then prom is on the 21 and OMG there better be enough time to do all this!

I was going to do a game called, "Guess the Dress", but than somehow I lost the piece of paper that had the 4 different dresses I tried on at that store written on it and honestly I'm too tired to search the website for the different dresses. Plus I can't find m
y dress on the website and seeing that there would only be ONE picture taken by me, it would be pretty obvious as to what dress I ended up getting. Because you guys are smart like that.

Forewarning: there is no picture of me in my dress yet. The one I tried on at the store was too big and we had to clip me in it and my bra was all exposed and I was not putting that on the internet. You can wait 2 more weeks to see me in it, right?

For those of you wondering, no, the woman holding the dress is not my mother. It's the lovely saleswoman that put a wedding vail on my head and a tiara to go with the dress and has set off this bug in me that is all, "OH WEDDING MAGAZINES! MUST LOOK AT DRESSES!" I spent 3 hours today at Barnes and Noble looking through Wedding Magazines ("The Knot" is my fave so far) because I need an idea for a hairstyle. No prom magazines are out yet. That did not help my "problem."

The color is called "lipstick" and was purchased at Alfred Angelos store. They have some of the nicest bridesmaids dresses I've ever seen and yes, this dress is a bridesmaid dress. I was hesitant about getting a knee length dress, but because I am so short (5'3) it looks lovely. The long dresses became floor length on me (and I was in heels) and I just liked the short style a bit more. Easier to dance in right? I found out today that the theme of prom is "The Roaring 20's". The colors are black and red and so far I've heard that I am one of the only people that have a red dress! I'm thrilled, I've always wanted a classy red dress and I think I may have found it. It's a halter top so that means that I need to find a differnt necklace than the one I was planning on wearing. I think I'm going to look for a long one that hit just below my neck while I'm in Miami tomorrow. Oh and I need shoes! I have dark red ones that could work, but that may be a little overkill on the red.

Now for hairstyles. After 6 bridal magazines and one prom magazine, I think I've found what I wanted. I want my hair up and I plan on putting something shiny (like crystals) in it. Please excuse my "ghetto" pictures as I took pictures of the magazine in Barnes and Noble, because I was not paying $6.95 for one page. Oh and I just found out that my hairstylist will not be here on the day of my prom....uh problem? She says her assistant can do it. I'm thinking she better be good.

Contender Number 1.

Contender Number 2.

Contender Number 3.

I'm really loving Number 2 the best. I love the side-swept bang and with the right crystal pins it could be lovely. Contender Number 3 is coming in at a close second. I think the headband is really original and might actually work. Regardless though, I want my hair to be up so that I won't get all hot and sticky during the night and because it just looks so classy and that's the kind of look I'm going for.

So what do you girls think? Number 1, Number 2, or Number 3? Cast your vote now! (I felt all "Who wants to be a Millionaire" right there).

Love the dress! And I was going to say I loved #2 the best, before I even read that was your favorite.

GORGEOUS dress, Kelsey!!! I wonder how many of us moms are going to live vicariously though you> LOL Number two would be fantastic! I fully expect a picture of THE day from you. I cant' believe that it's the end of HS for you!!! Gracious sakes, child, you're nearly a grown up! ;-)

While I CAN wait for my girls to get to this phase, I'm excited for it, too. I just did face masks with them and a friend tonight ad talked to them all about skin care. Makeup and prom dresses will be a TON more fun! LOL

I was just about to say that number 2 is my favorite.
It looks loose but tight enough. I like it a lot!
You better show us pictures.

I like 1 and 3, three might be because of Blair from Gossip Girl but she rocks those headbands! And I love the dress, can't wait to see a pic of you in it, I think the red will really compliment your coloring!!

I even like the idea of number 1 with a bit of number two...LOL, sorry!

"Short" post. Riight...
I'd have to go for number two, although I'm wary that it might just be the prettiest photograph!
Lovely dress - of course!

#2! #2! #2!

Sorry I have been completely MIA (not at the Miami airport - but swamped with my boys.) Saw your plea on Twitter. I've missed so much - new family?

You're first on my reading list for tomorrow - I promise!! Em

...and contender #3 needs a hamburger.

I'd go with black shoes - some strappy heels maybe?
